Tim Morgan - Managing Partner US operations

Tim started his career in Asia working as an English teacher in Osaka, Japan which started his love of international business.  He spent the next four years living in China, Hong Kong and Indonesia working for LA Gear and then NIKE working in contract manufacturing for footwear.  He continued to work for NIKE back in the United States focusing on global production of watches and sunglasses.  In 2001 Tim started International Sourcing Group (ISG) to develop custom products as well as to globally source a wide variety of products for US customers.  ISG has worked with fortune 500 companies as well as startup entrepreneurs with a vision. Tim has started a number of companies including Degree of Shade which makes optical accessories and Behavioral Therapeutics which makes classroom tools to help children focus in school.  In 2011 Tim started AFE to meet the rising demand he saw in Asia for high quality US made food products.  Tim is a resident of Solon, Ohio near Cleveland.  Tim holds a BS from Lake Forest College and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management and Erasmus University in The Netherlands.


Raphael J. Omerza - Vice President & CLO

As one of the founders of AFE, Rafe brings over 20 years of extensive domestic and international business experience to the management team.  Trained as a corporate lawyer in mergers and acquisitions, securities, finance and other commercial transactions, and having years of experience with the international law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, Rafe has hands-on experience through the entire spectrum of commercial transactions including strategic partnerships, structured finance, private placements, intellectual property management and international commerce and tax.  Rafe is an active businessman having served in a number of capacities for many companies including as Director, trustee, advisory Director and officer of numerous companies.  Rafe is an active member of the Greater Cleveland Community having served in a number of capacities including: a board member of The Cleveland Foundation, Lake-Geauga Fund (Chairman); a member of the Funder’s Committee of the Fund for Our Economic Future (Co-Chair of the Government Collaboration and Efficiency Action Team); a director of The Fine Arts Association (Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and Planning Committee, and Vice President); a partner in Cleveland Social Venture Partners; a member of the United Way Campaign Cabinet of Cleveland; a Director of The Waite Hill Land Conservancy (Executive Committee) and; a member of the Waite Hill Zoning Board of Appeals.   Rafe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College (Summa Cum Laude; Phi Beta Kappa, Alpa Sigma Nu) and a Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School (Magna Cum Laude).



 Tadej Kovacic - Managing Partner European Food Exporters

Tadej Kovacic has been involved with international trade for over 15 years, has extensive knowledge of various consumer product groups and has vast experience in purchasing, sales and management. Early in his career he started as a buyer for an Austrian home improvement and “do-it-yourself” chain bauMax-x®. In 2000 bauMax-x assigned Tadej to Hong Kong where his team managed all aspects of merchandising, product and package design, quality assurance and consequent coordination with manufacturers. While he worked at a joint procurement office, which bauMax-x shared with REWE® retail stores, COOP® supermarkets and former AVA “do-it-yourself” chain Marktkauf, Tadej strengthened his experience in international commerce and broadened his knowledge of Asia, its business environment, unique culture and markets.

After returning to Europe, Tadej joined SILK, d.o.o., which is one of the strongest distributors  in the southeastern European market. There he is responsible for procurement and new business development. Now based in central Europe, Tadej operates out of Slovenia but takes frequent trips to Asia and manages contracts, follows-up on purchase orders, condition of procured goods and handles logistics (e.g. container shipments; clearing customs; import / export procedures).

Lately, Tadej’s focus has been to strengthen relationships with existing suppliers, to engage new manufacturers, to source or develop new products, to tailor packing concepts for private labels or to adapt existing packaging and to organize necessary production to suit specific market requirements.

Tadej is constantly looking ahead toward development of new business opportunities and finding strong potential in new markets. His solid negotiating and problem solving skills enable him to build successful long-term strategic business partnerships with manufacturers, distributors and retailers alike.



Robert Kushner - Managing Partner Asian Operations

Rob is a former US Lawyer, having practiced commercial and business litigation in Los Angeles for four years before moving to Hong Kong in 1995.  In 1995 Rob founded, owns and manages Urban Trend ( www.urban-trend.com ).  Urban Trend develops and produces a wide variety of unique house ware items and novelty gifts and sells its products globally.


Aldo Rossettini - Director of Asian Sales and Sourcing 

Aldo has been living and working in Singapore for over 20 years selling a wide variety of products to food manufacturers throughout Asia as well as Europe and the Middle East.  Aldo’s connections with the best manufacturers in Asia allow AFE and EFE to source the highest quality food products at the best possible prices.  These connections also allow us to offer customized products when needed.  

Aldo is fluent in English, Spanish and his native Italian.
